Why you want to adore Digg
Morning!
If you’ve been in the diet/fitness blogging arenas for more than 2.7 seconds, you’ve probably heard of social networking; it the ability of people to share and communicate their favorite resources and help one another out.
Today I’d like to talk about Digg with you. Digg is a social network that lets readers submit sites of which they approve…but it can be so much more for you!
When readers want to submit your post, they usually look for the nifty cool DIGG button that’s hopefully blazingly obvious (you can see an example over at Make Them Beg To Digg You (my blog for teaching basic and advanced blogging techniques). It’s easy to include this in your own blog posts - if you’re comfortable with tweaking your single.php, simply visit the Digg Tools Integrate page and add the code provided. If not, the Digg Wordpress Plugin is a simple plugin that adds the same functionality
Do you use Blogger instead? If so, follow this Blogger hack to get the Digg button on your post.
Once the button is clicked, the reader is brought to the Digg site and waits for Digg to process it. Once that’s completed, the reader has to submit the title and write (ideally!) a most compelling description, choose the topic (category), assure Digg the story is original, and voila, your story is officially DUGG.
Ain’t life grand?
Seriously, though, the more Diggs you get on a story, the more your network reach grows. As you continue with your diet blogging or fitness blogging, chances are, you might consider adding Adsense or monetizing your blog in other ways…and the more people reading what you have to write, the better.

Thus, if you’re seriously considering about growing your blog readership, do add a Digg button to your posts and encourage your friends to Digg it if worthy. Who knows…perhaps your article might have that Zing! that compels it to the front page.
ThankYouVeryMuch!
